Tickets are available at Mountain Bookshop in the Junction Shopping Center in Sonora and Columbia Candle & Soap Works in Columbia, or by calling 586-1322. *AAUW was formerly known as the American Association of University Women, founded in 1881. Membership in AAUW is open to anyone (including men) holding an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Its mission is to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance.
The Sonora Branch of AAUW was chartered in 1961 and this will be the group's 46th annual Home Tour. In addition to third Thursday monthly meetings and working on the Home Tour fundraiser, members have fun getting together in various interest groups, such as The W(h)ining Diners, Dirty Girls (gardening), Act Out (play reading), Inklings (writing), various Book clubs and Bridge clubs, Theatre Goers, Ladies Night Out, Nature Walks, Bocce Ball, and many more.
