Truckee, CA...A multi-million dollar economic boost is on its way to the Eastern Sierra region. The newly-formed Sierra Jobs First initiative is part of a statewide investment in job creation, industrial strategy and economic development initiatives to create a more climate resilient and equitable economy. The Eastern Sierra region consists of seven counties: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono and Tuolumne.
Pile Burning Continues on Mi-Wok/Summit Ranger District

Sonora, CA...With pile burning operations nearly complete in the Cedar Ridge area, crews with the Stanislaus National Forest’s Mi-Wok/Summit Ranger District will turn their attention to other locations on the corridor. Over the next few days, fire crews will begin pile burning operations in the Sandbar Flat Campground as well as the Crandall OHV area.
