Live Concert, Native American Presentation and Dinner
Live Concert, Native American Presentation and Dinner
Mike Massê, LIVE, with Native American Dinner and Education
Native Sons’ Hall, 389 Main, Murphys, CA
Sat. Oct 14, 2023, 5pm
Tickets: $40 (Dinner included before Oct. 1)
https://www.eventbrite.com/

Have you ever tasted Native American food? What IS Native American food, anyway? There’s a lot more to it than the fry bread we see at PowWows. This is your chance to have a full meal with authentic pre-Colonial ingredients and to learn from Professor Stephanie Beaver about the Food Sovereignty Movement that’s sweeping the country.

A world class hoop dancer will also delight you, and then the Masséconcert’s featured performer, Mike Massè, will perform all your favorite tunes from the ‘60s to the ‘90s. Mike has an international reputation with his decades of YouTube performances that have become live performances around the world.

This dinner concert, a family friendly event, is a benefit for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Project, connecting kids with positive mentors. The concert is being sponsored by Local Routes Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit. All profits will go to the Youth Mentoring Program..

The dinner, included in the ticket price, will offer Buffalo stew (vegan option is available), Three Sisters Salad, Blue Cornbread with Maple Cream garnish, and Warm Blue Crumble Fruit Compote. There will also be a No Host Bar featuring delicious donated local wines and non-alcoholic drinks

Featuring:
● International YouTube sensation, Mike Massé, with over 160 million views.
○ From the 60’s to the 90’s, there will be something in the concert from each era of 20th
century classic rock. Cover the music, cover the world.
○ “Toto’s favorite cover of ‘Africa’” – Yahoo! Music

● Dr Stephanie Beaver, an enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, will teach us about the
relationship of Native Americans to their food and the Food Sovereignty Movement.

● Cirque du Soleil hoop dancer Eric Hernandez, a member of the Lumbee tribe, will share education through music and dance. This is an opportunity for friends and families to bond over timeless music and experience a little of Native American culture.

Donations can be made to sdr3sdr3@gmail.com via PayPal. Donations $50 and over will be acknowledged in the program; any amount is much appreciated.
