So, a new animal shelter gets kicked down the road once again. The county is - what? - nine million in the hole even after a couple of stellar housing sales years and resulting tax revenues. There would have been plenty there had you allowed legalized marijuana grows as opposed to funding an ever increasing Sheriff’s Dept budget to combat illegal ones. Sadly, Calaveras will always be a poor county because of its lack of vision.

    NO MORE EXCUSES!
    Disgusting! Completely unacceptable!

Especially with all the abuse of animals that was uncovered by the Butte Fire happening. The state of animals left behind and brought to the emergency grounds of the horse rescue next to Raley's in Jackson. was heart wrenching.

This is completely unacceptable! No more allowing the corrupt, thieving and heartless leadership to be able to do this again and again.

The time is now to hold them accountable and get the shelter built. And not a low budget, poorly built piece of crap either. Cut their pay, take away their county owned vehicles, find all the ways possible to make them pay for it.
