White Pines Lake Loop Run this Saturday
Arnold, CA...Join the new Murphys Running Club for a fun loop around White Pines Lake! We have a 5 mile loop option and a 13 mile loop option! All levels are welcome! If you would like to walk, please bring a walking buddy! The run will happen -rain or shine or snow (unless it becomes a blizzard- which is unlikely!)

Avalanche Safety Presentation at Bear Valley This Saturday
Bear Valley, CA...Event by Nickolay Dodov Foundation Avalanche Education and Backcountry Safety Saturday, January 20th at 2.30 PM in Bear Bungalow to Bear Valley Ski and Snowboard Teams OPEN TO PUBLIC! This event is perfect for anyone who: - Plays in the mountains! - Loves the snow! The Event is open for kids of all ages from 7 - 107!!!
Refresh your knowledge and learn more how to travel safe in avalanche terrain from Jason Bilek - NDF Avalanche Educator, Professional Observer for Sierra Avalanche Center, Heli Snowboard Guide In 1 hour, you will see the destructive power of avalanches, understand when and why they happen, and how you can have fun in the mountains and avoid avalanches.
Before you go into the mountains in winter Know Before You Go!
The program stresses a couple of simple preparation steps to ensure the safest possible skiing/snowboarding experience when in uncontrolled areas.

A sponsorship between the Nickolay Dodov Foundation and Alpine County Tobacco Prevention Program enables tobacco prevention education to reach youth at the same time they are learning how to stay safe skiing and snowboarding. Avalanche education and tobacco education have a shared goal to arm youth with knowledge they need to make their own decisions. We start every event with a short Non-smoking video message.

Who is CalCo Giveback Pack?
CalCo Giveback Pack is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in October 2021. Started by Autumn Poortinga & Michelle Perkins, they shared a desire to help giveback to the community that they have been raised in, have grown with their families in, and have strong family roots in. Their goal is to raise funds for local organizations, families & individuals who are in need of support. Fundraising happens in many different forms: including raffles, silent auctions, makers markets, dinners & events.
CalCo Giveback Pack is always looking for new members to help in our fundraising efforts. All donations are greatly appreciated and go 100% back to the local community.
Since being founded in 2021, we have raised close to $50,000.00, all that has been given back in our community.
We are planning our next fundraiser to benefit our organization and replenish our general fund. We will use the monies raised for our operating expenses (state and local fees) and to donate where/when needed.
Join us for a night of Bingo, a silent auction, raffle prizes and an amazing dinner!
