Copperopolis, CA...Update: The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office in coordination with Calaveras OES is continuing to monitor the wildfire in Copperopolis. Here are the latest updates: Fire Status: The wildfire has reached roughly 1,500 acres. 5,000 residents are without power. Road Closures: Highway 4 at Little John Road (Highway 4 at Obyrnes Ferry) is closed. Pool Station Road at Highway 4 remains closed. Hunt Road at Milton Road, Salt Springs Valley Road, Felix Road, and Rock Creek Road are also closed. Evacuation Order: The areas of Copper Town Square and Obyrnes Ferry Road to the county line are under an evacuation order. All residents are ordered to immediately evacuate.

Copperopolis, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office is continuing to monitor the wildfire near Areo Road in Copperopolis. Here are the latest updates: The wildfire has reached 1,000 acres. Highway 4 is closed between Little John Road and and Pool Station Road.
Angels Camp, CA...The Aero Fire and other factors have lead to a wide spread power outage along the Hwy 4 Corridor from Copperopolis all the way up to Arnold. Some areas have pockets of power but at this time they are the lucky ones.

Arnold, CA...We originally posted this for Father's Day in 2006. My father would turn 108 this year if he were here today. This poem was my father's favorite. This one is dedicated to my Father...Jay S. Hamilton. Dad was born in November 22, 1916 and died in May 1, 1991 of a Glioblastoma brain tumor. His life saw deep tragedy but he always rose above it. He was born in a house in rural Oklahoma with no electricity or running water. His Mom burned to death when he was 9 years old from a kerosene lantern fire while he was at home.....
