Update on Tulare County Fires....30% Contained So Far
Tulare County, CA....Eleven fires caused by a series of lightning started yesterday around 7pm. The area where the fires are burning is Porterville in the Fountain Springs area in Tulare County. There are currently 300+ acres burned and numerous down strikes in area. There is some precipitation with wind gusts up to 60 mph. Resources on hand....
About 110 firefighters from CALFIRE along with two hotshot crews from the National Forest Service are battling the blazes.
No structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported.
These fires are on the west slope of Sierras (foothill areas) throughout Tulare County from the Kern County Line to Fresno County
(1 at 200 acres, 2 at 50 acres each, 1 at 10 acres, and 7 of undetermined size.)
