Copper Couple Makes a Saucy Splash with the Creation of Great Aunt Dora’s Memphis Sauce ~By, Charity Maness
Copperopilis, CA....Kenny and Patty Mosley of Copperopolis knew they had something good on their hands when a few years ago they began a small word of mouth catering service highlighting their Great Aunt Dora’s special pulled pork sauce on their mouth watering ribs and their pulled pork sandwiches. At each event they catered the people in attendance, happily munching on the delicious meal, repeatedly told Kenny and Patty around mouthfuls of mouthwatering food, “You should market this!” After hearing it multiple times, the idea finally took seed.....
After navigating the manufacturing of large amounts, the bottling, the FDA, the patent process, the distribution, the ingredient clarification, and the inherent miscommunication when changing a recipe from small batches to immense batches, Kenny and Patty were finally able to unveil their Mosley’s Memphis Sauce in the Summer of 2010.
“This hot, slightly sweet recipe was written by Aunt Dora Simmons in Memphis Tennessee during the 1930’s. Great when used as a marinade or for basting over an open flame.”
Andy’s Mountain Grill and Deli in MiWuk has embraced Mosley’s Memphis Sauce by making their own Mosley Burger.
If you are looking for a great end of the season bbq sauce you can find this local couples family recipe sauce at Sierra Hills Market in Murphys, Angels Food in Altaville, and at Oakdale Feed and Seed. Or if you happen through Ironstone vineyards for one of their tastings, they proudly use Mosley’s Memphis Sauce at their tastings.
