Meeting in the Middle? City and Visitors Bureau Negotiating ~By John Hamilton
Angels Camp, CA...Representatives from the Calaveras Visitors Center and City of Angels Camp met yesterday to start working on getting a new lease for the Visitors Center in place. The City has offered to lower the proposed rent from $2,000 to $1,139.40 per month. The City has also given the CVB an extension of it's current lease until November 1st of this year while the parties negotiate...
The Visitor Bureau Board is scheduled to discuss this item next week.
As you may recall when it first came out that the City wanted to charge the CVB $2,000 a month rent it caused a public outcry of support for the CVB. Now it appears that the parties are talking and making progress towards a new lease.
