Major Injuries In Vallecito Motorcycle Accident Yesterday
Vallecito, CA...On Oakdale couple sustained moderate and major injuries yesterday in an accident on Hwy 4 at Ponderrosa Road that initially came in as a head on collision. From the CHP release..A 17 year old Mi Wuk Village resicent was driving his 1995 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Hwy 4 and was stopped at the intersection with Ponderosa Road preparing to turn left....
The Drays riding their 2007 Harley Davidson at approximately 55mph were approaching the Ponderosa intersection. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup proceeded to turn left onto Ponderosa Rd. without yielding to the approaching Harley which was close enough to constitute a hazard. Kenneth Dray attempted to avoid the pickup by braking and lying his Harley down onto its left side.
The Harley then broadsided the pickup. Simultaneously, Kenneth & Marjorie Dray were fully ejected from their motorcycle. After the collision, after the collision, the motorcycle was moved to the right shoulder to facilitate the flow of traffic. The Harley came to rest on its left side facing in a Westerly direction blocking the Eastbound traffic lane.
The Mi Wuk Resident driving the pickup was not injured and Kenneth Dray sustained moderate injuries and Marjorie Dray sustained major injuries. Both were taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital in San Andrea...
