Valley Springs, CA...The next VSABA Mixer is Friday, June 10 from 5:30 – 7 p.m., at Rising Sun Nursery, 3577 Hwy. 12, Burson. Our host, owner Don Urbanus is looking forward to a great turnout. Mixers and luncheons are a great way to meet new people and network! You are invited to come join us! The July, August and September luncheons will feature our elected officials. Senator Ted Gaines will be the July speaker, Congressman Dan Lundgren in August and September will feature Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen. Luncheons are held the third Wednesday of the month. Raffle tickets for two to the June 25th Fireworks Over Hogan event are being sold by the VSABA for $2 each or 3 for $5. Valued at $100, raffle tickets are available at The Valley Springs News (772-2234), and will be sold until the dinner/dance event in June when the winner will be announced. You need not be present to win! The winning tickets include a steak dinner in the big tent, and great seats to the best fireworks show around! Tickets for their event are available at The Valley Springs News and Umpqua Bank in Valley Springs.
An end-of-spring fling Dinner/Dance will be held Saturday, June 18th on the hardwood floors at Better Floors, 5476 Hwy. 12 between Burson & Wallace. Olive oil tasting, hosted by Rocca Bella Olive Oil owners, Ken and LeAnn Evoniuk and Alan and Kris Mangini will start us off from 5-6 p.m. Beer and wine no-host bar will open at 5:30 p.m., with soda and water also available. Dinner of tri-tip and chicken will begin at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Lucky Dogs band from Lodi ‘til 10 pm. Tickets are $25/person and are available at Health Habit and The Valley Springs News, 1906 Vista Del Lago; DJs Hair – 10 Nove Way and at Better Floors. Each year the VSABA awards two Virginia Saunders Scholarships to Calaveras High School seniors. This year’s awards presentation is Wednesday evening, June 1st, and our scholarships will be presented by board members Diana Gigliotti and Danielle Scaparro-Palm.
