Ironstone Vineyards Announces Their 2011 Concert Series ~By Patrick Works

Murphys CA,..Stephen Kautz invited area business owners and other local luminaries for the official announcement of the 2011 Ironstone Concert Series. Willie Nelson begins this season's Ironstone musical entertainment as Willie Nelson's Country Throwdown arrives at Ironstone on June 26. This one promises to be a great start for the year of entertainment at Ironstone, as Willie and family will not only bring out their usual blockbuster live performance, but also add a full day of entertainment starting at 4PM, as they introduce new talent that Willie has discovered and will be bringing to you. The Blue Bird Cafe is a legendary music spot where many stars of today met for the first time to play together and be together in Nashville. Wilie and family will be reproducing the Blue Bird in tented facsimile on the grounds at Ironstone, in order to offer a more intimate and appropriate space for upcoming talent to play, sing, and be heard as June 26th gets it's start...

The main stage that night will, of course, be given over to what has always been a great performance by one of the legends of American music. Some call him country, he calls himself a Texan; everyone calls him Willie.

Steve Miller has a deeper musical pedigree than almost any Rock and Roll musician this reporter could name. Playing with Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Buddy Guy, and a host of other Chicago blues icons seems a bit of a fantasy. This might have been expected for little Steve Miller, as he had been introduced to Les Paul and T-Bone Walker as family friends while young enough to be preparing for elementary school. Joined by childhood friend Boz Scaggs, Steve Miller and the Steve Miller Band became something to be reckoned with in the 1970s. World travels, musical stardom, and his Chicago apprenticeship all understood...Steve Miller's Texas roots make him a natural and must see act for the second week at Ironstone Vineyards 2011 Concert Series.

Alan Jackson has been a force to be reckoned with in country music for decades. Carrying the load, with others, to see that real country music does not get turned inside out by concert production, Alan Jackson writes many of his own tunes, sings from the heart, and will bring all the grit he can gather to Ironstone on August 26th. Mr. Jackson will be joined by Shooter Jennings. The son of Waylon Jennings,Shooter Jennings lived his first few years in a crib on his parents' tour bus. By age five, he was playing drums. At 8 years old, he took piano lessons. He started playing guitar at fourteen and sometimes played percussion in his father's band. Come and see him open for what will certainly be a blockbuster concert at Ironstone August 26th.

Sammy Hagar, with his band the Wabos, will be bringing hard rock and roll to Ironstone September 9th. Anyone who's even got a passing acquaintance with guitarists of the last 20 years will recognize the name Joe Satriani, who will be opening the night for Sammy Hagar, and then joining him for the rest of the night's concert.

Don Henley is the answer to the perennial question "when are you going to get the Eagles?" that Stephen Kautz has been asked for years. This year he can say "I've gotten an Eagle!" as Don Henley will perform October 1 to conclude the season of concerts at Ironstone for 2011.

Stephen Kautz and his staff have been working hard to book these acts over the last months. This concert season meets with a few challenges for those wishing to attend events at Ironstone. Ironstone Vineyards and the Kautz family encourage all of you to use their website ironstonevineyards.com to find maps to the vineyard and Murphys California. Google and Mapquest maps will likely take you down dirt roads you might not want to drive in your nice car. Ticket purchases should be made through Ticket Master's website ticketmaster.com. Please be cautious...scalpers are getting 200% or more for tickets still available on line at face value.
