Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital to Host 4th Annual Summer Health Career Camp
San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital has announced they will be hosting the 4th Annual Summer Health Career Camp June 20-24 for Calaveras County High School students at the hospital campus in San Andreas. The Camp is open to local high school juniors and seniors who have a desire to gain more knowledge about careers in health care. The free week-long project includes a complete orientation and tour of the facility, four days of “job shadowing” with hospital staff, networking with hospital staff and leadership at special luncheons, vocational orientation to over 70 health care careers, and a special student/parent graduation luncheon on the last class day. ....

“We are very pleased to host this event” said hospital President Feliciano Jiron. “One of our many responsibilities is to help students reach their full potential by helping them develop and identify goals for post-secondary academic paths. We try to encourage the belief that there are great jobs available in our community when they complete a higher level of education.”
Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital is a not-for-profit, 25-bed critical access general acute care hospital serving all of Calaveras County. Established in 1951 as Mark Twain District Hospital and centrally located in San Andreas, the hospital is partnered with Catholic Healthcare West to further strengthen this rural hospital to meet future community needs.
