Stardust Cowboys to Round Out Murphys Friday in the Park Series

Murphys, CA....The Stardust Cowboys, a Northern California based band that plays a blend of original tunes, Western Swing traditional melodies, and songs about the Old West will entertain the crowd when the Murphys Community Club presents First Friday in the Park, September 2, starting at 5:30 p.m. This will be the final First Friday performance for the 2011 season.....

Ronnie & Olen twin fiddlin!

The band has entertained across the Western States for 25 years and has developed a loyal following with their musical repertoire, down-home humor and enthusiastic stage energy. It is a band stacked with outstanding talents in songwriting, dynamic instrumentals and vocal harmonies.

Everyone is invited to bring a blanket or folding chair and join friends and neighbors in an evening of good music and camaraderie in the cool confines of Murphys Community Park.

There is no admission charge.

The Murphys Community Club will be selling food, wine, and other beverages beginning at 5 p.m. with the proceeds going to maintain and improve the park. This month’s menu from Alchemy Market & Café will include their famous Thai Chopped Chicken Salad, Gold Nugget Cheese Bread, and a White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie. The price is $8 per person.

Wines from Lavender Ridge Vineyards, along with soda and water, will be available to purchase.

The Murphys Community Club is celebrating its 43nd year of providing services and programs for the greater Murphys area. Its prime responsibility is the management and maintenance of the beautiful Murphys Community Park.

This is the fifth year the club has presented First Fridays in the Park. These summer time events continue to grow in popularity and have fast become a Mother Lode tradition. The sixth season will be presented in 2012 starting on June 1.

Membership in the Murphys Community Club is open to everyone and contributions are tax deductible. For further information, go to the web site www.visitmurphys.com/community_club.html or call 728-1948.
