Traffic Update...Vehicle Off Roadway & Into Water

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/24/2016 01:04 PM
Murphys, CA...Emergency crews are on scene and CPR is underway on a victim in a collision where a vehicle went off the roadway near Hwy 4 & Utica Powerhouse Road. The vehicle overturned into the water. Let's pray this one has a happy ending....(Update...This was a fatality and notifications are still underway for family members. Many of our local emergency personnel were on hand and working to try and save the decedent's life. One firefighter we saw had pretty severe hand lacerations sustained in his efforts. The vehicle was recognizable as a local vehicle as we noticed a logo in the window. One has to wonder if there might have been a contributing medical incident or some other contributing factor as the driver had probably traveled this road hundreds of times....

President's Weekly Address: Celebrating the National Museum of African American History and Culture

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/24/2016 08:29 AM
Washington, DC...Hi everybody. This weekend, we’ll dedicate the newest American icon on our National Mall – the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It’s a beautiful building, five stories high and some 70 feet below the ground, situated just across the street from the Washington Monument. And this museum tells a story of America that hasn’t always taken a front seat in our national narrative. As a people, we’ve rightfully passed on the tales of the giants who built this country. But too often, willful or not, we’ve chosen to gloss over or ignore entirely the experience of millions upon millions of others.

All on full display and the Ironstone Amphitheatre on the grounds to the Ironstone Winery in Murphys, CA. Come on out to see some great cars and help out local charities. Proceeds from the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance benefit Central and Northern California youth in agriculture, notably FFA and 4-H. Additionally, the non-profit Ironstone Foundation has helped fund the California State FFA headquarters in Galt, scholarships in partnership with the California State Fair, and the Calaveras County Fair Scholarship program. The Best of Show for 2015 went to Michael King for his 1932 Ford B-150 Station Wagon. It was his father's car and he did most of the restoration work himself. The very first event we covered for ThePineTree.net was the Ironstone Concours d' Elegance. It always has a special place on the calendar for us and we try to take a picture or two of every entrant in the event. We also have the Awards Ceremony in HD Video. This event showcases the cars and Ironstone Vineyards as the works of art that they are. The poster for 2016 and links to the 2015 show are below...
