Sonora, CA...On 12/15/2014 about 8:35 P.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle for expired registration on Hess Avenue near Mono Way. A driver’s license check revealed the suspect, Cody Collins, was driving on a suspended license. Collins was placed under arrest and his vehicle was searched pursuant to the arrest. Deputies located, a loaded handgun, and 48.4 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle. During a search of Collins person a switchblade knife was found in his pants pocket. ....

Tuolumne County, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has closed Sonora Pass/State Route 108 for the winter as of Wednesday, December 17, 2014. The road is closed at the snow park, 2 miles east of Cow Creek Road. The recent storms, and accumulation of snow, make the seasonal closure necessary for the safety of motorists and Caltrans crews. The weather conditions on the pass and subsequent road conditions are among the determining factors in the decision to make the seasonal closure. Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People! We have 6" of new snow overnight and still counting. As the split flow pattern once again shows itself we are subject to a back and forth pattern of bigger then smaller forecasted snowfall totals. Currently we are projected to receive 6-12" of new snow over the next 3 days but that could change to more, we'll just have to wait for the results. Today Snow showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 31. South wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.Tonight Snow showers, mainly before 4am. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches higher elevations. Snow level 5000 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 15 mph...except southwest 20 to 30 mph over ridges. Tonight Rain and snow in the evening...then rain and snow showers after midnight. Lows 19 to 33 higher elevations...32 to 38 lower elevations. The Tioga and Glacier Point Roads in Yosemite National Park are closed for the season because of deep snow and icy conditions. A series of storm systems have passed through the Yosemite region over the last several weeks, resulting in snow accumulations of up to two feet of snow in the higher elevations of the park, including Tuolumne Meadows and Glacier Point. The projected high will hover near 34 and light southeast winds early then becoming south 11 to 16 mph later in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. 1-2" of new snow should fall today and possibly more. "I was doing a walk about,checking the dome for storm damage.It's my responsibility now and I want to do it right. This is the only problem and I see it as a good thing. Brand new redwood deck speared by a hunk of cedar. I'm leaving it in place,like "The Sword In The Stone" story."

Murphys, CA...Hello, We had a nice little dog show up on our porch this morning looking cold and confused. She looks like a spaniel and she is wearing a blue camo sweatshirt. She seems to have arthritis and is very hard of hearing but she is friendly and well groomed, obviously someone's pet. We are located on Skunk Ranch Rd in Murphys, cross street near Mine Dump. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today we'll see another beautiful bluebird day with High temps right around 36F. Winds will be light and variable becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Yesterday was an epic day for all and conditions excellent for our guests and well...........can you say "stellar bluebird pow day"? The current system moving in will bring light snow later tonight and we could see another 12-18" of new snow by end of day Wednesday, possible more if everything lines up for us with trajectory, precip values and such.
