Murphys Community Club Town Hall Meeting on "Community Emergency Preparedness" April 30th
Murphys, CA... A panel of local agency professionals, including Calaveras County Sheriff Gary Kuntz, Murphys Fire Chief Steve Kovacs, William Wennhold, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Mark Twain Medical Center, and John Adams, who conducts seminars on being ready for an uncertain future, will focus on “Community Emergency Preparedness” when the Murphys Community Club hosts a Town Hall Meeting Tuesday, April 30, 7 p.m. in the Native Daughters Hall, 268 Main St., Murphys...
“One of the main functions of our club is to bring the members of the community together to discuss issues of general interest,” states MCC co-president Susanne Friedman. “These meetings have been very popular and well attended in the past and we expect this important topic to draw a large crowd.”
Billie McArthur, a member of the MCC board, will moderate the discussion and encourage the audience to participate. Adams is also a board member. The meeting is open to everyone and there is no admission charge.
Following the more formal part of the meeting, there will be a social period when refreshments will be served and conversations can continue.
Membership in the Murphys Community Club is open to everyone and contributions are tax deductible. Its primary responsibility is stewardship of the heavily used Murphys Community Park. For further information, go to the web site www.visitmurphys.com/community_club.html or call 728-1948.
