What’s Happening in Murphys this Week May 9 through May 22, 2013

Murphys, CA...May's Featured Artist at the Hovey Tasting Room - The talented art of noted painter Karen O’Neill is featured for the month of May at the Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. Karen mainly paints in watercolors and fluid acrylics and often starts her paintings with a spontaneous abstract background on very wet paper or canvas. Then, after studying the diffused background from many angles, she starts to visualize areas that could become locations to place her subject—whether it be floral, fish or landscape. Hovey Tasting Room is open daily from noon to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 209-728-9999...
