Murphys, CA...May's Featured Artist at the Hovey Tasting Room - The talented art of noted painter Karen O’Neill is featured for the month of May at the Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. Karen mainly paints in watercolors and fluid acrylics and often starts her paintings with a spontaneous abstract background on very wet paper or canvas. Then, after studying the diffused background from many angles, she starts to visualize areas that could become locations to place her subject—whether it be floral, fish or landscape. If so, Alchemy's " Amateur Chef Sunday Night" is for you. Submit your recipes, along with photos and the recipe's story (if you have them) directly to Alchemy's Chef Jason Wright via e-mail. Every few weeks, he will choose a submission to be the featured dish. Invite your friends and anyone you want to impress. May 19, 2013 - Native Sons of the Golden West Monthly Breakfast - Chispa Parlor #139 of the Native Sons of the Golden West will serve an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at the Native Sons Hall from 7:30 to 11:30 am. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate will be served for $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger.
