Apple & Pear Orchard Planning Class
Martell, CA...Have you ever wondered which apples or pears grow best in Amador County? When do various varieties mature? Do you have apple and/or pear tree experiences to share? The Amador County Master Gardeners are presenting a free class on all things pertaining to apples and pears (pome fruits). The class will cover orchard planning, apple and pear biology, history, variety selection, care, maintenance and harvest....
Bonus Info: We will be presenting the proper techniques for preparing and storing scions (cuttings to be propagated) until grafting season (Jan/Feb 2014). Our grafting class will be held in early February but scions can be collected earlier.
Please join us from 9am till noon, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the County Agricultural Dept. offices, 12200-B Airport Road in Martell.
