Honolulu, HI...Hi, everybody. As 2014 comes to an end, we can enter the New Year with new confidence that America is making significant strides where it counts. The steps we took nearly six years ago to rescue our economy and rebuild it on a new foundation helped make 2014 the strongest year for job growth since the 1990s. Over the past 57 months, our businesses have created nearly 11 million new jobs. And in a hopeful sign for middle-class families, wages are on the rise again.

A Message to the Men and Women of the NYPD ~ By Commissioner Bratton

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/21/2014 08:01 AM
New York, NY...This message comes with deep sadness. Put the flags at half-mast. Today, two of our officers were shot and killed, with no warning, no provocation, in the 079 Precinct. They were assassinated—targeted for their uniform, and for the responsibility they embraced: to keep the people of this city safe. Police Officer Wenjian Liu and Police Officer Rafael Ramos will be remembered. They will join a line that is too long, a line of partners who served together and made the ultimate sacrifice together...

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/20/2014 08:45 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Currently we are at 2-4" of new snow overnight and 6" fell yesterday for a total of 8-10" of new snowfal in the last 24hrs. Why am I reporting 2 different numbers you ask? Wind direction, Aspect, Topography and temerature all play a factor in the distribution. Regardless of why a little less fell here than there, it's going to be a ripping day for Skiing/Riding! Today we'll see possibly up to 1-2" of more snow fall then tapering off as mid day approaches and then moving out overnight. The high for today will be around 39F with winds out of the Southwest from 11-14mph with possible gusts to 22mph. Stay tuned.......Peace Out, Mattly

Bear Valley Weather & Conditions Update ~By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 12/18/2014 09:58 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today we will see a 20% chance of snow showers before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 37. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. The recent storm total left 10" of nice light snow and coverage continues to only get better. Another system albeit weak, is slated to bring a shot of snow on Friday and into Saturday morning. Bear Valley is right in that track and we could see a few more inches than what is forecasted. Colder airmass aloft should bring snow levels down to the 5000' range. It's time to make the move if you're on the fence about coming up to Ski/Ride. Conditions are fantastic with 100% of the Frontside Bowl open and more terrain is slated to go online for the Backside via the Polar Express Chair. Peace Out, Mattly
