Calaveras County, CA....Grant Barrett has served the legal needs of the Calaveras community for the past 18 years. He has over 12 years of experience on the bench in Calaveras County. Since 2006, Grant has served our community as the Calaveras Superior Court Commissioner where he regularly presides over family law and civil disputes. From 2011 through 2013, he also served as Court Commissioner for Amador County Superior Court, at their judges’ request, until a suitable replacement could be recruited and trained. In 2013, Grant was named Judicial Officer of the Year by the Child Support Directors Association of California.

Copperopolis, CA...Crews are working a structure fire in Copperopolis that was confined to the attic. Air units were dispatched as a precaution but were released. It is unknown yet full extent of damage but the residents will no doubt be displaced and units remain on scene....

As the first of the series was an overwhelming success in July, and featured local bands – The Experimentalist, Jill Warren and The Hot Dark. The next Bands Barrels and Barbeque is slated for Friday, August 29th and will showcase Cabby featuring Brian Jirka, Lightning Boy and his Thundering Blues Band and The Little Fuller Band....

A positive identification of the deceased female is still pending. The cause of death is yet to be determined but no foul play is suspected....

Sacramento, CA...Below is a statement from California Forestry Association President David Bischel on the proposed EIS and ROD and a couple of points for the ROD. Statement from Calforests’ President David Bischel: "We commend the US Forest Service for putting together an EIS and ROD for the Rim Fire Recovery on the Stanislaus National Forest within the targeted timeframe while keeping a transparent and open process.
