Fire Update....Vegetation Fire On George Reed In San Andreas...Hwy 49 Closed Due To Smoke Update Fire At 90 Acres But Making Progress
San Andreas, CA...Crews are working a 1/2 acre grass fire with one structure threatened near George Reed in San Andreas. More to follow if needed.... Update as of 3:47pm...We just checked in with CAL-Fire TCU Command and at last report the fire was at 20 acres and burning Near George Reed of the roadway. Update as of 4:14pm...Just received an update from Lisa Williams and she confirmed the fire is burning in a south easterly direction and the bulk of the fire is on the Cement Plant side of Pool Station which is good news. There have been some reports of is jumping the roadway. The take away is to avoid San Andreas and Pool Station if possible and for Northbound Hwy 49 traffic detour off at Fricot City to Calaveritus Road and then back down Mountain Ranch Road...Update as of 4:33pm...Air Attack over the fire says we are now in the 90 acre range and they are making good progress. CHP is reporting that there was a jump of Hwy 49
