Mike Borean Endorses Merita Callaway For District 3 Supervisor

Hathaway Pines, CA...Mike Borean, who finished third in the June primary election, has endorsed front-runner Merita Callaway in her bid to be re-elected Calaveras County District 3 Supervisor. The election is November 4. “I have always respected Merita for her accomplishments as a County Supervisor and for the amount of time and energy she spends representing the residents of District 3,” said Borean. “I am particularly appreciative that Merita took the ‘high ground’ during the campaign. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all who supported my campaign and to those who voted for me. We are now faced with a clear choice in November. I strongly urge all those who supported my campaign to vote for Merita.”

Borean made his declaration during a September 21 fundraiser held at Brice Station Vineyards and attended by more than 200 enthusiastic Callaway supporters.

“During the primary campaign I was very impressed with the way Mike conducted himself and the issues he presented,” says Callaway. “We saw eye-to-eye on almost all issues and it means a lot to me to have his support. I look forward to taking advantage of his counsel during the next four years.”

Borean is completing his career as a Battalion Chief with the City of San Mateo and has announced his retirement which will take place in December. His family has lived in Arnold since the 60’s. He is a graduate of Bret Harte High School and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. During his firefighting career he continued to live in Calaveras County so he and his wife could raise their children in the small-town environment.
