Zerrall McDaniel to Run for Calaveras County First District Supervisor...Campaign To Focus on Leadership, Solutions, Hard Work~By Donna Schantz

San Andreas, CA... Zerrall McDaniel, a 48 year resident of Calaveras County, announced today that she will seek the office of Calaveras County Supervisor from the 1st District. McDaniel is currently a trustee of the Calaveras Unified School District, first elected to that post in 1999...

McDaniel has been a retail business owner in San Andreas & Valley Springs since 1984, when she founded ShowTime Video.

McDaniel also is currently President of the San Andreas Merchants’ Association, President of the Valley Oaks Merchants’ Association in Valley Springs, President of her homeowners association, and is currently Co-chair of the citizens group Citizens for San Andreas.

She has served on the School Site Council for San Andreas Elementary School, Toyon Middle School, and Calaveras High School, and served on the CUSD Bond Oversight Committee.

McDaniel is married and has two children and one grandchild. Her husband, Bruce, is a retired Lodi police officer.

McDaniel says that her campaign will focus on the need for hard work and public participation to deal with the problems that have stemmed from poorly planned growth. Those problems include a deteriorating infrastructure, jobs and economic security, and the challenges to our citizens stemming from a deteriorating quality of life for seniors and working families.

“The hole we’ve dug for ourselves is deep, and it will take hard work, commitment, and cooperation to dig ourselves out of it. The one thing I can promise is that if I’m elected, I will work as hard as I can to find solutions that are in the best interests of the citizens and taxpayers of the First
District and Calaveras County.”
