Current Exhibit Shows 15 Calaveras Artists’ Version of “Life’s Journeys”
San Andreas, CA...The first ever “themed” show of the Gallery Group of the Calaveras Arts Council is now on public view in its gallery on Main Street in San Andreas. The exhibit titled “Life’s Journeys” features 15 artists’ interpretations of that theme--all are new works in a variety of mediums. See a wide range of images that includes fishing scenes, old doors, sandhill cranes, antique dolls, and even a large realistic watercolor painting of Hillary Clinton as she looked during her “journey” in 1993. All of the works are for sale, with a few exceptions....

The Gallery Group artists participating in the show are: exhibit curator Ruth Morrow, Ken Winebrenner, Lori Kelly, Megan Aguilar, Maren Sampson (artist of Clinton painting), Lura Francis, the Painter Sisters, Helen Scofield, Cate Culver, Margaret Roberts, Marilyn Thomas Hinsdale, Pat Rohovit, Sumiko Mancinelli, Janet and Andy Trinkle.
The Calaveras Arts Council Gallery is located in San Andreas, at 22 Main Street, a half block off highway 49. The show continues through February 28, followed by the annual high school art show and competition. Hours are weekdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Saturdays 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
