'Girls Night Out' for a Good Cause ~ By Bethany Monk

Murphys, C.A....More than 200 women participated in Ironstone Vineyards first annual "Girls Night Out" event which will benefit the Calaveras Crisis Center in San Andreas....

Women came from as far as Mariposa, Lodi and several other places -- several came from Calaveras areas as well -- to attend the special evening. Fifteen event sponsors showcased their respective booths during the evening. Participants could get their hair styled by Salon 66 stylists, participate in a yoga/pilates demonstration by Christa Rypons of Intelligent Body of Murphys, sample the delectable wines, cheeses and other delicious items provided by Ironstrone.

"It's amazing that we had such a good turn out," said Fara Dunn, Ironstone marketing director. "The community has been so supportive, so generous."

Ironstone Vineyard executive chef James Lehman presented cooking demonstrations, which attracted large crowds to the culinary center at Ironstone.

"I'm thrilled," Rusty Walker, Calaveras Crisis Center coordinator, said of the event.

Funds from the evening will help support a variety of programs at the crisis center, Walker said, adding that the center is completely funded by grants and donations; Ironstone's contributions will help the center a great deal.

The Calaveras Crisis Center offers a variety of services to families in need.
