Mokelumne Hill 4th of July Parade Brings A Bundle of Americana to the Heart of the Gold Country!
Mokelumne Hill, CA....Main Street was packed and the streets of downtown Mokelumne Hill were overflowing on Friday morning for their Annual 4th of July Parade. Events like this bring out the Patriotic Spirit in each of us and remind us what a great place Calaveras County is to live. The combination of thousands of people lining the sidewalks, the setting of Historic Mokelumne Hill and the truly community nature of each float made this year's parade a great one. It was also much more than just a parade. The "Curly Bob" gang shot up the town and the Sheriff and the Mountain Men had to come in and save the town. After the parade the San Andreas Fire Department came out victorious this year in the decades old rivalry between the Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Fire Department and the San Andreas Volunteer Fire Department that erupted into a fire hose "Tug of War" with the losers drug into a waiting pool of water. There was fun for all ages who came and spent the day! In typical Pine Tree fashion...

we tried to capture as much of the event as we could so you can enjoy the event again and again. We have over an hour of Video of not only the parade but also of "Curly Bob" and his surly band of outlaws. We also have over 350 pictures of each and every parade entrant and more. We hope you enjoy the photos and video.
Supervisor Russ Thomas started things off with another of his wonderful renditions of our Star Spangled Banner. Supervisor Steve Wilensky was even brought in via telephone to send his greetings to the town.
Each year Moke Hill’s 4th of July parade brings a bundle of small town memories to the heart of the gold country. There Fire engines, restored vintage cars, 4H clubs and horse back riders and wild and wacky floats present at this annual event. The day kicked off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Veterans in the “Town Hall." . The parade followed at 11am. Vending booths were out selling a wide variety of goods or all to enjoy....
We would like to thank the Hotel Leger for Sponsoring the Video of this Year's Parade!
