Mirror Project 2008 Presented "Merry Wives of Windsor" ~By Hanna Alldrin

Murphys, CA....Murphys, CA,.... For the past four weeks 12 students have been learning acting skills during the 8th annual Mirror Project presented by the Murphys Creek Theatre. The Mirror Project is designed for students of the arts from ages nine to sixteen, The Mirror Project offers invaluable training under the tutelage of professional artists from all walks of life. Last night students performed a "Merry Wives of Windsor" a Shakespearean play with a Mirror Project "modern twist".......

Set in the outstandingly fabulous trailer park of the Murphys Creek Theatre, Sir John Falstaff tries to seduce Mistress Page and Mistress Ford in order to steal their wealthy husbands money. But the wives are amused by Falstaff and have no intention of being disloyal to their husbands.

Meanwhile, the wives turn the tables and Falstaff soon finds himself thrown into Thames in a shopping basket and then dressed up as an old woman and beaten by Ford. During the last of the wives pranks, Falstaff is made to believe that the town's children are fairies, while Caius, thinking that Ann i s a green, elopes with a boy.

This hilarious production was wowed by their audience. "The audience was laughing to hard, I had to put my hand over my mouth back stage," shared Emily Sykes. "This was the second best experience of my life, and illuminated qualities inside me I never knew I had," shared Tyler Hovey.

The Teachers and Technitions include:

Graham Green - Artistic Director, Director, ad Mirror Project Coordinator.
Vickie Hall - Improv Instructor
Martha Kight - Production Manager, Props Master
Brooke Lawrence - Stage Manager
Tyler Mattson - Master Electrician

During the rehearsals and pre production students received instruction in acting, improvisation, text analysis, voice, singing, dance, and stage combat. The crowning achievement of the summer is the full-length production of a Shakespearean work. Some of the professional acting coaches include: Artistic Director Graham Green and Mission Improvable Director Vickie Hall.

The mirror project started in 2000 and has been active for eight years. "I'm very proud of this program, it is the best of all worlds to me" shared Graham Green.
