Camp Fire Death Totals Continue to Rise. 56 Deaths Confirmed as of November 14th |

Paradise, CA...The Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) reports an additional eight fatalities have been confirmed due to the Camp Fire. Eight human remains were located in Paradise. Six sets of human remains were found inside structures. Two sets of human remains were found outside structures. This brings the total number of fatalities to date to 56.

Paradise, CA...The fire remained active throughout the day in various areas around the perimeter. Firefighters have been working diligently to attack the fire through direct and indirect methods. As weather and visibility allow, fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters have been working in coordination with ground crews to slow the fire’s progress. Firefighters continue to strengthen and improve containment lines around the fire. Firefighters remain deployed throughout the interior areas of the fire’s footprint to patrol, extinguish hot spots, and mitigate hazards.

Out of Control Juvenile Triggers Temporary Lockdown at Calaveras High School |

San Andreas, CA....From the Calaveras Sheriff's Dept..."On 11-13-18 at about 1251 hours CCSO Deputies were dispatched to Calaveras High School in San Andreas for a report of an out of control juvenile being aggressive on campus. It was reported that the juvenile possibly had a knife. The Sheriff's Office was informed that the school was placed on lock down as a precautionary measure. Deputies have been on campus and the juvenile has been contacted. No knives or other weapons were located on the juvenile. The situation is being resolved and there is no ongoing threat to students or staff."

Over 200 Still Missing as Butte County Sheriff's Office Activates Missing Persons Call Center |

Paradise, CA...The Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is activating a Missing Persons Call Center available to the public to provide and receive information about current persons missing from the Camp Fire Incident. This Call Center will be staffed and answered daily from 8:00AM to 8:00PM.

Camp Fire Fatalities Climb to 23 as Search for the Missing Continues |

Paradise, CA...November 10, 2018 UPDATE The Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) reports an additional 14 fatalities have been confirmed due to the Camp Fire. Four victims were located in Concow, two in vehicles and two in houses. Ten victims were located in Paradise, seven inside houses, and three outdoors. This brings the total number of fatalities to date to 23.

Paradise, CA...As reported at yesterday's press briefing, the Butte County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has received reports of fatalities due to the Camp Fire. BCSO investigators are still working to confirm the reports. The task is difficult due to the fact that the fire is still active and there are many hazards in areas where fatalities have been reported.

Father Sent to State Prison for Killing Young Son in DUI |

San Andreas, CA...On November 9, 2018, in Calaveras County Superior Court, the Honorable Judge Susan Harlan, sentenced Tyler Nichols to 15 years to life in state prison for the August 2, 2016, second degree murder of his four year old son Jace. Mr. Nichols, 33, of Pine Grove, was driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit with Jace in the backseat of his car. Due to his level of intoxication, Mr. Nichols left the roadway and crashed his car into a tree. Sadly, Jace died later as a result of injuries he suffered from the collision.
