If You Are Heading to the Valley..108/120 is Still Congested Due to a 100 Acre Grass Fire

Knights Ferry, CA...If you are heading to and from Calaveras County avoid Hwys 108/120. There is a fire in the Knights Ferry area that has currently consumed 100 acres and one home, according to Tilly at CAL FIRE in San Andreas. It is 50% contained. On scene now are quite a few resources including...One Air Tanker, One Helicopter, Two Bulldozers, Sixteen Engines, Five Handcrews, Two Water Tenders & Five Battalion Chiefs. We will provide additional updates if needed. But for now avoid 108/120. You may be detoured around the fire area as well....

Forest Fire Officials Announce Fire Season

Sonora, CA.....The Forest Service today announced that effective Sunday, May 25, the Stanislaus National Forest officially begins fire season. Forest fire stations will be staffed for five-to-seven day coverage, firefighting crews readied, and fire prevention patrols deployed in dispersed camping areas to inform, educate, and enforce fire regulations. ....

San Andreas, CA...Emergency crews are working a single vehicle roll over accident near Winton & Hidden Valley Rd. Please use caution in the area...more to follow. Update..As of 6:40pm the road is still partially blocked. When this accident came through is showed a person possibly pinned under the vehicle. Use caution in the area...(Update)According to CHP it is a major injury accident.

Fields Training Burn Scheduled for May 26th

San Andreas, CA...The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will be conducting a training burn north of Orange Blossom Recreation Area, approximately 4 miles northeast of the community of Oakdale. This burn is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., Monday, May 26th and end Tuesday afternoon May 27th, 2008. Approximately 150 acres of grass will be burned during the exercise......

San Andreas, CA....CHP is reporting a collision involving a carnival vehicle at Hwy 12 at El Papagalo. Apparently the vehicle rolled over. The roadway is clear and we are unsure if there are any injuries.
