Murphys, CA...In great news for our local wine industry and business community the Stevenot property and Dragone Ranch have new owners. The new owners have plans to reopen the winery and at least one of the partners has roots in the Sonoma area wine industry. This will start a new saga for the property that in many ways put the Calaveras County Wine Region on the map. Many in the community have been grateful for the care of the property from the investment group who became the unwilling owners after a foreclosure sale ended the Munari era...

Sacramento, CA...Covered California™ announced that insurance companies signed contracts to participate in the newly created health benefit exchange. Twelve health insurance companies will offer coverage in the individual exchange, with six of those companies offering plans through the exchange’s Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) market as well. A 13th tentatively selected company, Ventura County Health Care Plan, opted out of the exchange in the first year...
