Traffic Stop Ends in Methamphetamine Off the Streets and Stolen ATM Recovered.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne County Sherifff's Dept..."Early this morning, a Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a white Chevy Envoy on Rawhide Road in Jamestown for expired registration. During the stop, the deputy discovered 50-year-old Irving Gallego and 37-year-old Teresa Abreo of Columbia had 35.28 grams of methamphetamine, plastic baggies, and a digital scale. The suspects also had a full size ATM inside the vehicle. Gallego admitted to taking the ATM from behind Cruisers gas station in Copperoplis.

Drowning Reported at New Melones Lake

Tuttletown, CA...From the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept..."Search efforts are ongoing for a reported drowning of an adult man that occurred this afternoon on New Melones Lake. The Merced County Sheriff’s Office will be assisting our Boating Enforcement Unit with additional sonar and camera equipment.

Major Injuries to Sonora Man in 450ft Vehicle Plunge Off of Wards Ferry Road

Sonora, CA...On August 18, 2018, at approximately 1745 hours, Joshua Nevel of Sonora was driving his 2003 GMC Sierra, southbound on Wards Ferry Road at an unknown speed. For unknown reasons, Nevel failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway. Nevel made an unsafe turning movement and allowed his vehicle to drive off the east roadway edge of Wards Ferry Road. The GMC rolled over multiple times and fell approximately 450 feet down the embankment towards the Tuolumne River.

Former CHP Officer Charged with Rape of 12 Year Old Girl

Jackson, CA...From the Amador Sheriff's Office..."On Sunday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office received a troubling call from the pastor of a local church. The pastor explained that the mother of a 12-year-old recently learned that her daughter had been molested. The mother also disclosed that the suspect in the molestation is currently employed as an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

Valley Springs, CA...On 8-15-18 CCSO Deputies responded to a reported burglary at the Calaveras County Water District Treatment Plant in Valley Springs. Sometime during the night of 8-14-18 to the morning of 8-15-18, an unknown suspect or suspects broke in to the building and attempted to steal several vehicles on the property including a tractor and another truck which was damaged by a futile attempt of hot wiring.

Major Injures to David Moore when His Scooter Went Down on Hwy 49

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Moore was riding his Yamaha Majesty scooter northbound on SR-49 north of Gold Rush Lane in "13 Curves". He was unable to negotiate a left hand curve and his Yamaha overturned, causing Moore to be ejected from his Yamaha. Moore sustained major injuries due to the collision and was life flighted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of his injuries.

Ione, CA...Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) recently held its fifth annual Junior Corrections Academy. The Junior Academy was designed to give the children of MCSP employees a chance to learn more about the job their parents do every day and to expose them to the field of Corrections Law Enforcement. On July 16, 44 participants, ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old, started a week-long junior academy where they received instruction on a wide range of topics which included: Fire Suppression, Social Media Security, Firearms Familiarization, Basic First Aid, Crime Scene Preservation, Contraband and Drug Interdiction and Crisis Response Team weapons and tactics.
