San Andreas, CA......The San Andreas CHP will be aggressively enforcing the State’s occupant protection laws as part of California’s 2008 Click It or Ticket mobilization, taking place May 19-June 1. The campaign relies on heavy enforcement and public education as a means to help California achieve the highest seat belt use rate in the nation. California currently has the nation’s fourth highest seat belt use rate at 94.6 percent. ......

Angels Camp, CA...At approximately 1400 hrs the majority of the rides at Calaveras County Fair were officially re-opened. The remainder of the rides continue to be inspected by Cal OSHA. All other scheduled events will continue. The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office has completed their Industrial Accident report of the ride collapse, which was investigated by Sheriff Detectives and Sheriff Patrol staff. This report does not include findings regarding the cause of....

Vehicle Accident Causes Small Vegetation Fire in Angels Camp |

Angels Camp, CA...CAL Fire Reported an accident involving a late model Toyota Camry caused the vehicle to catch fire and spread to nearby vegetation burning a 30' x 30' area at 1166 Gold Cliff Road in Angels Camp on Sunday afternoon. Estimated damages including the vehicle is $45,000. Full report is enclosed....

Hwy 49 and Finnegan Lane Collision Starts Grass Fire |

Angels Camp, CA....CHP is reporting a vehicle hit a fire hydrant at Hwy 49 and Finnegan Lane in Angels Camp. The collision apparently started a grass fire. CHP and CAL Fire are on scene now and they have the fire almost out. An ambulance is also en-route. We are unsure of any injuries at this time.

Vallecito, CA...A 45 year old man from Redwood City was traveling WB on Hwy 4 in Vallecito he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road. He was ejected from his motorcycle and collided with a wire fence and sustained severe injuries. He was transported by air ambulance to a valley trauma center. The CHP release is enclosed... |

Murphys, CA....There has been a motorcycle accident on the grade this evening. CHP is listing the road as completely blocked. (Update) There were injuries in the accident and two people will be medi-flighted out with non-life threatening injuries. The road should open by 8:45pm - 9:00pm. We spoke on scene with Sheriff Deputy Stark and he said "It was a single motorcycle crash with two on board. Apparently they went into the corner too fast and lost control." Just a note to all of our visiting motorcyclist friends...

CHP is reporting a major injury motorcycle collision at Parrotts Ferry Road just north of the bridge. Victim is reported as unconscious. Helicopter not on scene as of yet. Victim may be transported via ambulance to Doctors Hospital of Modesto. They may transfer to Medi-Flight at some point.

Valley Springs, CA....Two people were medi-flighted to Modesto Hospitals following a short pursuit in Valley Springs. Deputies arrested the suspect Michael Sauve, 20, of Lodi. At approximately 10:40 am a Calaveras County Sheriffs Deputy observed the suspect vehicle near Taco Bell in Valley Springs. The Deputy observed an equipment violation on the suspect vehicle. The Deputy intended to conduct a traffic stop to investigate the....

Angels Camp, CA....The condition of the three victims of the carnival ride accident is improving. The Sheriff s Office has learned the 20 year old female that was flown to Doctors Hospital in Modesto has been released. The 12 year old female that was flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center is listed in good condition. The 14 year old female that was flown to Memorial North is listed in stable condition. The Sheriffs Office does not know the extent of the victim's injuries and is not going to......
