Posted by: thepinetree on 08/24/2019 02:12 AM
Jamestown, CA...We need your help in finding a missing teen. 18-year-old Jake Aaron Wiebe was reported missing by his family on Wednesday night. Jake reportedly walked away from his home on Margaret Drive in Jamestown shortly after getting involved in a verbal argument on the phone with his mother. Jake’s family says he likes to visit New Melones Lake, Don Pedro Lake, Shawmut Road in Chinese Camp, and downtown Sonora. They said it’s also a possibility that Jake hitchhiked or got a ride to another county. Earlier that morning, Jake was also heard talking about hiking the Table Mountain area.

California's David Wagner to Tackle 2020 Iron Dog! World's Longest & Toughest Snowmobile Race!

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/21/2019 08:39 AM
Arnold, CA...On Sunday we had the pleasure to sit down with local snowmobiler David Wagner. He has been a fixture in the local snowmobile community for years. In February of 2020 he and a teammate will see if they can be the fastest to cover the Iron Dog's 2,409 miles. Actually those in Alaska are literally betting that anyone from the lower 48 and especially California isn't even tough enough to finish let alone win the Iron Dog. Wagner may be from California but one of the secrets in the snowmobile community is that some of the best, advanced terrain is in Northern California including the Ebbetts Pass Area. So while extended periods of extreme cold may be new to David, steep trails and deep snow will be a piece of cake.
