Federlein Family Fund Donates to Calaveras Community Foundation |

Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has been the recipient of over $81,000 over the past several years from The Federlein Family Fund at the San Francisco Foundation specifically to benefit area seniors. An additional generous grant of $20,000 received in December enabled CCF to provide surprise grants to various local organizations. These funds are in memory of Lloyd Federlein....

Elémentaire is the creation of two professional cooks dedicated to helping take the mystery out of making delicious meals from scratch. Arnold, CA – Three local organizations will benefit from the auction proceeds collected at the recent Greater Arnold Business Association Holiday Banquet. Here GABA president Paul Bertini presents gift checks to each group’s representative. From L-R, Bertini, Kate O’Keeffe of the White Pines Park Committee, Sid Marsh of the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum and Dick Watson of Friends of the Arnold Library. Each group received a gift of $750 to spend as they see fit...

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Water District continues to urge customers to use water wisely. Water conservation is always a good idea. As the Drought picture becomes clear, CCWD will implement appropriate programs and policies to address water conservation. At this time, the district is advising that all measures are voluntary. While water supplies may be challenged during the upcoming year; good stewardship of the districts’ resources may be adequate to avoid mandatory restrictions...

Arnold, CA...Bursting into the new year with gusto, newly elected president of the Greater Arnold Business Association Paul Bertini led a standing room-only crowd Monday night through a brainstorming session of ideas for some innovative new projects and events in 2014. Bertini, a 22-year resident and businessman from Avery, expressed his personal commitment to the members of GABA while calling on the meeting participants to invest “two or three days this year” as volunteers for making the Ebbetts Pass corridor a better place to live, work and shop...

Angels Camp, CA....A small group of local residents are working together to encourage and promote random acts of kindness throughout Calaveras county. In 1995, the Angels Camp City Council passed a proclamation that Angels Camp is a Kindness Zone. Once again we are asking the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors to pass a county-wide Kindness Zone proclamation as well. (both the city and county have proclaimed kindness zones)...
