Angels Camp, CA...Last night's meeting of the Angels Camp City Council brought out more than the usual full to capacity crowd of local citizens, as public safety and local ordinances were discussed along with a vote on the public/private partnership proposal by Destination Angels Camp, along with the usual public comment session and some non-action items....

Bret Harte girls Varsity soccer capped of the first night of spring with a victory over Argonaut High. On a cool evening in Dorrah stadium, midway through the first half Lauren Redding uncorked a rocket inside the 18 yard box and found the lower, right half of the back of the net, who says defensive players can’t score? Bret Harte girls soccer is all about getting numbers in the attack and looking for equal opportunities on goal from the back as well as the front and midfield. Several other .....
Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte Swim team continues a great year with good results vs Amador and Argonaut on March 16th. The girls swam away with two wins and the boys touched the wall first over Amador just came up short against Argonaut. Results are enclosed...

San Andreas, CA..We will be going back to posting the Sheriff's Logs daily instead of a once a week summary. The main reason is that with AB109 and other early releases there had been a marked increase in Home Burglaries, Crimes of Opportunity and Thefts. This is happening all over the county. From thieves going from car to car looking for unlocked doors in the Valley Springs area to men walking into a home in Blue Lake Springs in the middle of the afternoon, to potential home invasion style residential burglaries near Angels Camp where suspects entered homes while the residents were sleeping in bold and brazen robberies....

Angels Camp, CA...Frogtown..The Ag Awareness Day for 2012 was Thursday, March 15th, 2012 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. The fun and educational event, was free to all 4th and 5th graders in the Calaveras County. This is a wonderful annual event sponsored by the Calaveras County Farm Bureau. Also this year Justice Rasmussen helped spearhead the event as his senior project. 26 different exhibitors showcased their areas of expertise. One central exhibit this year was a dairy exhibition featuring a real life producing dairy cow....
Bret Harte Girls Soccer: Varsity draws with Linden in a tight match, another victory for JV

Angels Camp, CA...Bret Harte JV defeats Linden JV 3-1. Goals by Sam Crabtree, Haley Rizzi and Sarah Wilson. Bret Harte JV had good control as they took on Linden on Thursday afternoon. The clouds parted as the whistle blew, allowing the teams to battle with nothing more than a short sprinkle in the second half. Bret Harte got on the board first with a goal from Sam Crabtree, assisted by a beautiful through ball from Jennifer Munoz. Linden came back with a goal of their own, tying it up 1-1. As the second half opened up, Marissa Menzes made a solo run from the backfield moving the ball past several Linden players and laid a perfect ball to Sarah Wilson for goal number two. Haley Rizzi knocked the final goal to the back of the net to give Bret Harte some breathing room in the final minutes of the game....
