Murphys, CA...Rob’s Place Restaurant, Gold Country Roasters and TCL Chocolates are teaming up to present a fun summer evening on the south end of town! A gourmet four-course dinner prepared by Chef Rob Christie, paired with specially selected local wines, plus decadent chocolate desserts from TCL Chocolates of Angels Camp, all infused with bursts of flavor using GCR coffees - with live music by Nicholas Lefler. The cost is $75 per person (tax and gratuity included). Seating is limited and reservations by Thursday August 21st are a must! He is an attorney who successfully argued the term limits Proposition 140 before the California Supreme Court and has been HJTA president since 1999. He is the principal author of Proposition 218, the Right to Vote on Taxes Act, which was approved by voters in 1996. It's Official...Skyline Acquires Bear Valley Mountain Resort in Northern California (Update...Sale Is Now Final) !! |

Toronto, Canada...(Update...Transaction Now Complete) Skyline International Development Inc. (TASE:SKLN) has entered into a binding agreement of purchase and sale to acquire Bear Valley Mountain Resort (bearvalley.com) in northern California. The agreement comes after several weeks of discussion with the current ownership and local community leaders that had formed the Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative and who were also in the process of purchasing the resort. Closing is subject to the US Forest Service issuance of a permit to operate the resort, expected in 30 to 60 days. “Given Bear Valley’s spectacular beauty, excellent terrain and potential for improvement, we believe it is a great fit.”

Murphys, August 17, 2014 – Hovey Winery, 350 A Main St., Murphys, celebrates the release of its 2012 Zinfandel and 2013 Sangiovese Rose on the lawn with a Sausage and Pesto Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31 of Labor Day Weekend....
Hovey Winery knows how to throw a party and the photos above are from their 2012 Isabel Cabernet Sauvignon release party. Grapes were were from the Rasmussen Vineyard

Muprhys, CA....Well you know Murphys is a cool place is even the Boys from ZZ Top and Jeff Beck ventured out and about to enjoy it's charms. They were posing for pics, venturing out for coffee, having drinks a local watering holes and visiting local businesses like Murphys Motorcycle Company below. So if even folks who have literately been everywhere and seen almost everything find the charming burg of Murphys worth a look....well that's high praise indeed....

Angels Camp, CA....ZZ Top headlines at Ironstone tonight, but Drummer Frank Beard is a bit of a golf fanatic and arrived in town early to enjoy a round at Greenhorn Creek yesterday. Greenhorn Creek is running a contest on their facebook site for a pair of tickets that was generously provided by the famous visitor. Frank is known to be a scratch golfer, and often participates in tournaments and community events in his hometown of Richmond, Texas where he owns and operated the Top 40 Ranch. The trio of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard was founded in the late sixties and have been playing together ever since. Prior to ZZ Top, Frank and Dusty had been musical partners for years. Both were members of the two Dallas based groups - The Warlocks then The American Blues. Frank joined ZZ Top in 1969. Two months later, a new bass player was needed for the band. It was at that time that Frank called his longtime friend Dusty Hill to audition. The rest is musical history....
