Angels Camp, CA...We had the pleasure to chat for a few minutes with The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce's Executive Director, Diane Gray. One of the big pushes for the Chamber this year will be Economic Development and bringing additional jobs to the county. The Chamber is meeting with Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chair, Steve Wilensky next week. A Supervisor's Study Session will be held at a later date on Economic Development. This will enable what everyone can do to enhance the economic vitality of our area....

Calaveras County Master Gardeners Launch 2008 Open Garden Days |

San Andreas, CA...The 2007 Open Garden Days proved to be a winner for Master Gardeners and the public. First opening on the fourth Saturday of February, 2007 the public response was immediately positive and grew as the program became more widely publicized. When the garden closed last November, over 1,000 visitors had been to the garden to gain more information on a variety of gardening topics.....

Some of the agenda items being discussed will be ther Acceptance/Completion of the Jenny Lind Rancho Calaveras Hwy 26 Transmission Main Extension CIP Project; There will also be discussion on the County Parks Projects. San Andreas, CA...At the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner held on Friday, February 1, 2008, Mark Twain St. Joseph’s was honored by being awarded 2008 Business of the Year! There were over 140 members of the business community in attendance, including 19 from the hospital leadership, medical staff and Hospital Foundation....

"Did you know…an $18,475 Catholic Healthcare West Community Grant was recently awarded to the Take It To Heart Foundation to implement their "Family Fit" project in all Calaveras and Tuolumne County elementary schools."

A facilitated forum will follow, giving participants opportunity to voice their opinions on challenges and solutions affecting the level of health care service and delivery in Calaveras County....
