Arnold, CA....We have The Biggest Loser Contest happening. Our first weigh-in was last week. The Biggest Loser....So far is Alicia who lost 18 pounds. Congratulations Alicia! Out of 20 contestants, everyone who weighed in had lost several pounds so far. Keep up the good work.

Dr. Thompson has made a passion out of his personal family involvement with Autism and shared the search for causes, treatment and prevention of this disease that affects one child in 150. Dr. Thompson’s dedication led him to found Mind Matters, a multi-disciplinary clinic specializing in Learning Disorders, Autism and ADHD. ....

Murphys, CA...Chief of Staff Dan Savage is the keynote speaker at the third “Let’s Talk Health” series luncheon at Ironstone Vineyards at noon on March 17th, 2010. Mr. Savage will be speaking about “Childhood Diabetes and Our Family”. Dan’s oldest son Sean was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 13 and has now taken control of managing his disease. Along the way, Dan, his wife Sue and youngest son Colin, have learned a great deal about diabetes and incorporated Sean’s condition into the family lifestyle...

Looking beautiful, elegant and youthful at 61, Peggy talked about her life, skating career, Olympic Gold, this years Olympics including her accident in the Vice-President's motorcade in Vancouver and more. She also talked about her battle against, and victory over breast cancer...

Spring was in the Air on as Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital Had a Wonderful Turnout for Their Health Fair!

Murphys, CA...This last Saturday Ironstone was packed for the MTSJ Spring Health Fair. When speaking with the Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation's , Peggy Lucas , she was ecstatic about the turnout and went on to say they had even taken bloodwork for testing on over 200 attendees. So if over 200 had their blood screened then the overall attendance must have been quite nice. MTSJ has a full month of activities planned. This week Olympic Gold Medalist and Cancer Survivor Peggy Fleming will be at Ironstone for a Wednesday luncheon...

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital in the Gold Country of Calaveras County in California was recently recognized with a Perfect Care Award for the diagnosis and treatment of heart attacks. Kassie Waters, RN, describes the criteria the awards committee used in evaluating hospitals around the country and how this national awards program provides a clear indication of the goals for the standard of care provided at the hospital....

Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital Announces Community Grant Awardees

Three local non-profit organizations received grant funding as part of the Catholic Healthcare West/Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital Community Grants Program. Grants were awarded to the Volunteer Center of Calaveras County, The Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families and Mind Matters Clinic, Inc. Projects funded will benefit the communities within Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital’s service area. Funds awarded to the Volunteer Center of Calaveras County will be used to provide “safety net” transportation for life-supporting tasks, and to collaborate with other organizations for a response to public emergencies. Executive Director Marti Crane and Joy Roberts accepted the award.....
