Angels Camp, CA...This week was a winless one so far with one game left to play as Amador plays Galt tonight. The Calaveras Redskins had a long bus ride home from Modesto Christian on the losing end of a 51-15 game. The Argonaut Mustangs had a similar bus ride home from River City with a 20 point deficit in the 41-21 game. The Linden Lions football team came up short in the battle of farming towns at Escalon by a score of 56-12. The Summerville Bears football team came away just a TD short in a shootout at Bradshaw Christian by a score of 49-42. The Bret Harte Bullfrogs football team dropped their home game against Drake by a score of 27-17. In non-MLL action the Sonora Wildcats lost Friday's away game against Paradise 28-13...

Fishing Report Hwy 4 Corridor September 10, 2013 |

Arnold, CA...The smoke has been clearing during the day and the fishing on the Highway 4 corridor is excellent. Trout plants for this week are the East and West Fork of the Carson River. Lake Alpine was planted this past week by Alpine County. Make sure to obtain a fire permit and call the Forestry Dept. at 209-795-1381 for up to date fire restrictions as we are still in a dangerous fire time... |

Pavement Work in Alpine County May Cause Delays September 20th |

Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 89 from Markleeville Camp Ground Road to Montgomery Street for pavement work. Work will occur on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible. |

Bear Valley, CA....Due to the recent Sierra fires, this year’s 21st annual Bear Valley Triathlon had to be postponed from it’s original date of September 1st to Sunday, September 22. The picturesque setting of Alpine County, California is the location of the exciting 21st annual Bear Valley Triathlon. The popular central Sierra end-of-summer triathlon tradition will be held on Sunday morning, September 22, at Bear Lake, in Bear Valley Village.
