Restrictions apply but make sure to let them know you're a local when you're out supporting our local businesses. This Summer at Black Sheep Winery - The Black Sheep Winery Tasting Room will be featuring the artwork of local photographer Bernadette Callen throughout the summer. Come in and view Bernadette's photographs of the spectacular beauty of California's Sierras and North Coast, and enjoy some of Black Sheep's award winning wines such as the Double Gold and Best of Class 2009 Grenache and the State Fair Gold Medal winning 2008 Amador Co. Zinfandel....

Greet and talk 30 artists during the Calaveras Artists Studio Tour, Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30. The tour brings artists and art lovers together in relaxed and friendly environments where the various elements of art are shared and enjoyed. Artists will be on hand from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days for questions and discussion as they “show their process” and reveal how, why and where they create their artwork. Big Trees, CA...We had the pleasure of spending a few minutes talking with David Vassar and Sally Kaplan in front of the "Big Stump" in Big Trees State Park. Big Trees State Park features prominently in their latest "California Forever" about the California State Parks. David and Sally not only feature our area in their latest project the award winning Film and TV industry veterans now call Arnold home and they are moving their production company Backcountry Pictures to Murphys. Mind Matters Receives $3,500 Grant From Calaveras Community Foundation

Murphys, CA...Mind Matters, the Murphys based non-profit treatment center devoted to addressing the many needs of patients and families affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Learning Disabilities, has received a $3,500 grant from the Calaveras Community Foundation. The money will be used to support the center’s Social Thinking program. The ability to understand and interact with other people, whether at family gatherings, at school, or in the workplace, is taken for granted by most people. However, this is foreign territory for those who are autistic and many who suffer from attention deficit disorder....

The dinner features lamb and beef slow roasted overnight in our BBQ pit, and paired with delicious paella from Marco Paella, along with other yummy side dishes - and more Spaniard! AND: Live music!
