Posted by: thepinetree on 01/09/2021 12:33 PM
Angels Camp, CA...Well, now that the holidays are over, the ornaments have been carefully wrapped and boxed up, the tree is in its festive bag or in the green recycle bin, the confetti cleaned off the floors and furniture and the horns and hats tucked into a sack, we have almost put it behind us until we open the frig and see the eggnog staring us in the face! By now we are all sick of drinking this holiday concoction, yet we don’t want to throw it out. So, let’s get creative and put those culinary juices to work. Breakfast foods come into my mind first, but this year I have thought of an idea for a tasty lunch as well. Here are a couple of easy delicious recipes to use up your eggnog.

Bear Valley, CA...The Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) is excited to offer cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and tubing experiences for the 2020/2021 winter season. Since COVID-19 is alive and well, we have instituted some new rules in order to keep everyone safe. Help keep the Bear Valley winter wonderland open by supporting the following changes: General: Do not visit BVAC if you are feeling ill; this includes our groomed trails. Masks covering your nose and mouth are required inside the store, and anywhere social distancing (minimum 6 feet separation from others) cannot be maintained. Celebrate 2021 with January Wine Specials from Black Sheep Winery!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/08/2021 01:15 PM
Murphys, CA... Black Sheep Winery arrived in Murphys with the 1984 harvest. From that first harvest we produced our 1984 Amador Zinfandel. The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That's what makes us Black Sheep; we're different from the rest of the flock. We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.

Ebbetts Pass Fire Fighters Rescues Man in Snowshoe Lake

Posted by: News_Desk on 01/08/2021 03:45 PM
Arnold, CA... EPFD responded to Snowshoe Lake on January 1st, 2021 for a person stuck in the mud. EPFD arrived to find an adult male who had rescued his child from being stuck, and then became stuck himself. The more he tried to get out the deeper he sunk. Upon our arrival the mud was past his waistline. Please use caution around our drained lakes, the silt/mud can be dangerous!
