Mother Lode Jewish Community’s Annual Hanukkah Party will be held on Saturday, December 24th at 5:00pm at The Lions Hut (Behind the fire station) on Highway 4 in Murphys. Please bring a potluck dish to share. Due to a limited number of seats, everyone MUST RSVP by December 18th. RSVP to Ron and Tami Schaner: Phone: 209-795-3530 E-mail: schaner@sbcglobal.net. Volunteers are needed for set up, clean up and to make some Latkes ahead of time....

High Holy Days Coming Up on October 7th |

The Mother Lode Jewish Community has set plans for the upcoming High Holy Days. We will be holding a Kol Nidre service on the evening of Friday, October 7th at the Orman home in Murphys. The service will be preceded by a potluck dinner at 4:45PM before we start our fast. The Kol Nidre Service will begin at 6PM....

On Sunday, September 11, during and after the 10 a.m. worship service, the First Congregational Church of Murphys will focus on our response as a faith community to the tenth anniversary of the attacks on 9/11/01. While acknowledging the impact of that event, we also will celebrate three new beginnings: our Rally Day, which marks the start of another Sunday School year; our Choir returning from its summer break; and the commissioning of the Pastor Search Committee.....
