Sonora, CA...The fire restrictions in moderate hazard areas have been terminated as of Oct. 10, 2017. The Stanislaus National Forest enacted temporary fire restrictions in Moderate Hazard Areas on Aug. 26, Restrictions in High Hazard Areas remain in effect. Washington, DC...In 2012, Caitlan Coleman, an American citizen, and her husband, Joshua Boyle, a Canadian citizen, were taken captive and held hostage by the Haqqani network, a terrorist organization with ties to the Taliban. Ms. Coleman gave birth to the couple's three children while they were in captivity. Yesterday, the United States government, working in conjunction with the Government of Pakistan, secured the release of the Boyle-Coleman family from captivity in Pakistan.

Sacramento, CA...California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Director Mark Ghilarducci today secured three additional Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress wildfires burning in Lake, Orange and Napa counties. The FMAGs also enable local, state and tribal agencies to recover eligible costs.

SACRAMENTO - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued an emergency proclamation for Napa, Sonoma and Yuba counties due to the effects of multiple fires, including the Tubbs and Atlas fires, which have damaged critical infrastructure, threatened thousands of homes and caused the evacuation of residents.
