Big Trees, CA...CHP is reporting a minor injury collision with Ambulance Responding at Hwy 4 and Big Trees Parkway. Apparently there is a Coca Cola big rig 40 feet over the embankment. It is unknown if the trailer is loaded. We just spoke to CHP...the driver is out of the vehicle thankfully suffering only minor injuries and is being transported to Mark Twain St.Josephs Hospital. Hwy 4 may be closed for a short time while they are removing the vehicle....Two big rigs are required to do so. The towing company will make that determination. Use caution in the area. They may have to cut down a tree to get the vehicle out. You may experience intermittent openings and closings until they finish removing the truck.

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 04/07/2008 08:00 AM
San Andreas, CA...There was a fire this morning at Hwy 49 and Pool Station Road possibly due to downed PG&E wires. The Little Miner 49'er Preschool was damaged in the fire. Hwy 49 was closed for about 1/2 hour this morning but is now re-opened. Speculation is that the fire may have been caused by a heater in the interior of the structure igniting due to the power fluctuations from the PG&E line that arched. Luckily there was nobody inside.
