Today, it’s my privilege to award the highest military honor to an American soldier who demonstrated exceptional courage to protect his men and defend our nation. Will you please join me in welcoming Staff Sergeant David Bellavia? David, thank you. (Applause.) David is the first living recipient to earn the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery in the Iraq War. (Applause.)
Ironstone Summer Concerts Kicked Off With Endless Hits From Don Felder, Little River Band, Ambrosia & Firefall

Murphys, CA...The 2019 Ironstone Concert kicked off with an epic night of the best of the 70’s with Don Felder’s Eagles hits like Hotel California. The Iconic Little River Bands performed “Lonesome Loser”, “Got You On My Mind”, and “Lady” and more. 70 & 80’s band Ambrosia brought their hits like “How Much I Feel and Biggest Part of Me”. Firefall played hits like “You Are The Woman”, “Strange Way”, “Just Remember I Love You”,! The band members had a few more wrinkles and a bit less hair than in the 70s but the music was great. Saturday Night was the first of 11 shows this year at Ironstone Amphitheater. Below is a bit of video, photos and band bios...
San Jose Girl Escapes River With Help from Tuolumne Deputy, Search & Rescue & Pinecrest Fire.

Dardanelle, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Just before 4:45 this afternoon, our communication center received a call for help for a girl who fell into the river. The 15 year old girl from San Jose was camping with family at the Brightman Flat Campground in Dardanelle, and was fishing near the water when slipped on a rock and fell in. She was quickly swept down river and was luckily able to catch herself on the log pictured below. Bystanders went out on the log to try to help the girl and keep her calm until additional help arrived. They used ropes and stood downstream for safety. Deputy Boujikian, our Search and Rescue team, and Pinecrest Fire personnel, responded to the river and were able to get a helmet and life vest to the girl. She was able to pull herself along the log far enough for rescue personnel to get her out to safety. Medics on scene evaluated the girl, who thankfully only suffered some scrapes and bruises.
