City of Angels to Discuss Hwy 4/49 Intersection Alternatives and Downtown Angels Business Recruitment Plan and Style Guide |

Angels Camp, CA....The City of Angels Camp City Council will hold a joint workshop meeting this Tuesday, September 16th, then their regular meeting this Tuesday, September 16th. Starting at 5pm will be a City Council/Traffic Circulation Committee Workshop to discuss Hwy 4/49 Intersection Alternatives. Regular meeting to follow at 6pm. They will then hold a Public Hearing for consideration of a Community Development Technical Assistance Block Grant Application; Approve Resolution item for the submission of a CDBG application for a downtown business recruitment plan/style guide; The General Plan will also be discussed; A Resolution accepting a Public Easement for the Murphys Grade Road Waterline Project and more. Welcome Friends....I recently received a call inviting me to a wine and hors’ dourves party to celebrate the arrival of a mutual friend, Nancy, who was here from Connecticut. She and her husband, Stewart, moved to the east coast two years ago. I was thrilled to have been invited and could not wait to see her! The guest list looked like the “Who’s Who” of Angels Camp. Kathy and Dixon were hosting the affair in their beautiful home which was surrounded by lush gardens, large oaks and meandering vines which wrapped themselves around ....

Frogtown, CA...The Fair Board as expected made some adjustments to the plans for the 2009 Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. The board and management have received quite a bit of feedback and suggestions from the community meeting last month on what changes the community would like to see. The main and most visible changes for attendees will be a renewed focus on the arena events with Jr. Bull Riding being added. The Rodeo, Horse Events and more will be showcased. The Fair will also move away from a traditional Headliner music act on Saturday Night. Based on Community Feedback this seemed one area where costs could be saved and shifted to enhancing events in the arena. The schedule will also return to a Thursday - Sunday schedule. Angels Camp, CA....Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Angels Camp 2020 General Plan was the topic of discussion at a Tuesday Meeting held at the Angels Fire House. The City conducted an open house to solicit public and agency input to identify potential environmental effects that may be associated with the adoption of the plan. Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Enterprise Hosted a District 4 Supervisor Candidates Night this evening at the Bret Harte Theatre in Angels Camp, where there were approximately 40 people in attendance. We had the pleasure of broadcasting this event "Live" for your viewing pleasure. Incumbent Supervisor Tom Tryon and his challenger, Councilman, Lee Seaton were present for this evening. They answered questions both prepared by the Calaveras Enterprise and also the audience. The replay of the evening is enclosed...

Angels Camp, CA....Angels Camp, CA....Take me out to the ball game! Tamara Dragmanovich and Karen Moore, two very dear people in our county have been diagnosed with cancer. To help support them and their families, the community is holding a Cancer Benefit Co-Ed Softball Tournament. The tournament will be held on September 13th at the Copello Park in Angels Camp. As of Thursday of last week there were 12 teams signed up for the tournament.....
