Posted by: thepinetree on 01/23/2015 01:54 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...Dean Kelaita, MD, local health officer of Calaveras County, says that while we are seeing an increase in flu activity in Calaveras County, it is not too late to get vaccinated against the flu. So far this season, influenza A H3N2 viruses have been most common. For comparison, in the 2012-2013, 2007-2008, and 2003-2004 seasons H3N2 strains predominated and had the highest seasonal mortality levels of the past decade. Roughly half of the season’s H3N2 viruses that have been analyzed are ‘drifted’ with antigenic differences from this season’s vaccine H3N2 virus.
