Amador Child Molester Found Guilty & Sentenced To Maximum Term

Amador County, CA...Almost a full year after a jury found Alex Aroz, 32, guilty of five felony counts of child molestation, Judge J. S. Hermanson sentenced Aroz on February 24, 2017 to the maximum possible sentence: 16 years to be served at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

California Connections Academy @ Ripon Opens Enrollment For 2017-18 School Year

Visalia, CA...As technology continues to revolutionize American education, the number of students turning to virtual and blended learning programs continues to grow. In fact, from September 2015 to September 2016, California Connections Academy @ Ripon saw student enrollment increase by 23 percent. The school, serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, and Stanislaus counties, is now enrolling new students for the 2017-18 school year during the open enrollment period and will be hosting digital and in-person information sessions throughout the counties for interested families to learn more.

Jackson, CA... past Valentine’s Day, Hospice of Amador & Calaveras announced the 7 lucky winners for their 8th annual “Take a Chance on Love” Valentine’s Day Raffle, which were drawn & announced live on KVGC Radio. Ariane Debien, Hospice’s new Executive Director said, “I am truly overwhelmed to learn of the community’s continued generosity to Hospice of Amador & Calaveras, announcing this year’s event raised over $25k by purchasing 4,976 raffle tickets, with all proceeds benefitting your local hospice, Hospice of Amador & Calaveras. Thank you to our generous donors, contributors, raffle sponsors, volunteers, employees and everyone who purchased a ticket to support our hospice mission.” Debien added, “And an extra special thanks to Stanley Lukowicz, The National Hotel, Jackson, for again purchasing $10k in raffle tickets and donating all of them to 10 local well-deserving non-profit agencies. Kirkwood, CA...CHP is reporting an overturned vehicle on Hwy 88 near Kirkwood. Traffic on Hwy 88 is much higher at this time due to the closure on Hwy 50. Please use caution in the area...(Update....Hwy 88 is a mess at this time....with 50 closed and Hwy 88 blocked with this collision avoid the area if at all possible.)
