The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area will be out this St. Patrick’s Day Weekend looking for those who choose to Drink and Drive. Last year over the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, the San Andreas Area arrested 6 people for Driving Under the Influence. Across the state last year, 16 people were killed and 304 injured in DUI involved collisions. A total of 1,250 drivers were arrested for DUI by the CHP...

Calaveras County Sheriffs Association to Hold Dinner To Benefit Local Youth |

San Andreas, CA...The Annual Calaveras Deputy Sheriff Association (DSA) will hold their annual Dinner Dance on Saturday March 22nd ad San Andreas Town Hall. The event will start at 6pm with a no-host bar, then dinner to follow at 7pm. The proceeds for this event go to local youth organizations, and contributions to local scholarships every year. CHP is reporting a non-injury collision at Hwy 49 near the Carson Hill Rest area at 8:15 this morning. Please use caution in the area and also while driving on these slick roads.

West Point Shop Owner Robbed |

West Point, CA...We just received this Press Release from the Sheriffs Office.....Early Monday morning the owner of Sharp's Gas was robbed of her purse by a masked man as she prepared to open the store. The victim told Deputies she was a walking towards the front of the store when she heard her dog bark. The victim said she turned to see what the dog was barking at when.....

BOS NEWS....The New Jail has 28 Acres of Land to Call Home |

San Andreas, CA....As expected today, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of 28 acres in San Andreas for the home of the New Jail. There have been extensive negotiations over the last few months to reach an agreement on the purchase. The final price has not been disclosed but there has been agreement on an arbitration process to reach a purchase price. The county has agreed to pay at least $1.9 Million. The negotiations have reached the point necessary to allow the grant process to move forward... |

Jenny Lind, CA....The MythBusters are making their 5th appearance in Calaveras County to film an upcoming episode. Today's Myth involves testing some scenes from the Caddyshack movies about explosives and gophers. They had us swear a vow of secrecy to protect the outcome of the MythBusting. One of the other reasons we made the trip out to Jenny Lind were they where filming this morning, was to chat with Calaveras County OES Chief, Clay Hawkins about the visit from the MythBuster's Team. Many of you may not know that...

Death Investigation at Bear Creek Reservoir Campground |

Calaveras County, CA...The Amador County Sheriffs Dept. received a call from a citizen who reported finding a deceased female in the Bear Lake Campground. The citizen stated that the female was in a tent and in a sleeping bag. The Amador County Sheriffs Department responded to the location and determined that this was a rural area of Calaveras County. Calaveras County Detectives responded and took over the investigation. It was determined that the deceased was a 49 year old named Patricia Elizabeth Jaeger....
